This carving was purchased from family members of John Henry. I can’t recall their relation or names. While I was working in I met an elder who invited me to their home for coffee and to try some seaweed. Their dinning room wall was covered in carvings. They asked if I liked any of them and I picked out this mask. The family and I agreed on a price so I made the purchase. It was a great honor to invited in and to buy this carving. And to get some great coffee and dried seaweed from a beach just a few steps from the home.
